Product Introduction
The Japan Air Self-Defense Force's Phantoms are finally being fully retired.
Since last year, each unit operating the Phantom has been showcasing their brave, specially marked aircraft in various locations as part of a final tour.
And this April, the ultimate Phantom, the one to mark the end of these special Phantoms, finally made its appearance.
Aircraft No. 436, sent out by the 301st Squadron, sports a sharp, vibrant metallic blue color scheme.
The design, featuring the unit's frog mascot, is a sibling to the previously introduced No. 315, which gained popularity as the "Last Keroyon."
In addition, the vertical stabilizer and underside of the main wing feature "Spook," the Phantom family's iconic character.
This truly fitting finale for the Phantoms is currently attracting significant attention.
While the Phantom's service as a unit has ended, the blue No. 436 and the yellow No. 315 are scheduled to continue flying their final tour, bringing to a close the Phantom's nearly 50-year history with the Japan Air Self-Defense Force.
