Description
These stones are genuine basalt without treatment with chemical wax or epoxy resin. Wax and epoxy resin are used by some manufactures to turn the stones black and to make them smoother - these stones will turn black once they have been oiled. Basalt suitable for hot stone massage is almost usually dark grey (naturally black basalt is almost usually too coarse). Using wax or resin to make the stones smoother makes them too smooth for use as anything other than placement stones, as working stones (those used for effleurage) benefits from the natural texture (smooth but not super smooth like marble) to provide a little grippiness with the connective tissue.

Greater temperature accuracy - on existing heaters the temperature sensor is attached to the outside of the external pot. Our new heater has a spring loaded temperature sensor which protrudes through a hole in the base of the outer pot, allowing it to measure temperature against the water reservoir itself. This leads to greater accuracy in the temperature reading.

No more ""smoking out"" process prior to first use. Most other heaters require the heating element to be burnt off, producing a noxious industrial smell and quite a bit of smoke, in a well ventilated area. Our heating elements are burnt off in ovens in the factory prior to assembly so there is no need for the user to perform this process.
More affordable - in the past heaters with digital thermostats have been considerably more expensive than heaters with analog thermostats due to a global exclusive for the digital heaters held by a wholesaler. Now we can offer the digital heater at the same price as the analog version as we can buy direct from the manufacturer without a wholesaler's mark-up added to the price.
