This is a replica of the military radio, the AN/PRC-152. It features a compact model without GPS communication capabilities. Widely used by the U.S. military, from general troops to special forces like the SEALs, Rangers, and airborne forces, it is primarily used by signal operators (RTOs), platoon and squad leaders, and reconnaissance units. The real thing can transmit and receive radio waves up to several kilometers away in unobstructed spaces like plains or mountaintops, transmitting audio over distances beyond the reach of walkie-talkies. The size is faithfully recreated! The unit measures approximately 220mm in length, expanding to approximately 580mm with the included antenna. The sheer size makes it a striking presence! The look of your equipment is completely different with or without it. The internal compartment can be accessed by removing the four screws on the back of the unit. Wiring can be routed through the threaded antenna connector on the top. Note: The hole is too narrow to fit a jack, so you may need to enlarge it or remove the connector before wiring. The connector is simply secured with a nut on the back, making it easy to remove.
