Brand Introduction

Fjällräven was founded in a small town in central Sweden called Övik. Established by a 14-year-old boy named Åke Nordin, the brand began with a love for skiing and a need for more comfortable backpacks that could carry more gear for longer trips. After realizing the existing backpacks were uncomfortable, Åke decided to build his own. He ingeniously crafted a frame made of wood and created his first trekking backpack. After being drafted into the military, Åke understood the importance of carrying more gear and officially founded Fjällräven at the age of 24 in 1960. The Arctic Fox logo of Fjällräven has now become a recognizable symbol seen in urban areas as well as wilderness.
