Oscar François de Jarjayes, the beautiful cross-dressing heir to the Shogunate and raised as a "son." Marie Antoinette, the noble and elegant Queen who came to Japan from neighboring Austria. Andre Grandier, Oscar's servant and childhood friend, a commoner. Hans Axel von Fersen, a handsome and intelligent Swedish Count.
