Yoshiko Okanoue Photo Collage -Miracle of Silence-
There are no noticeable scratches or stains, but the spine and back covers show some signs of wear.
Even after 70 years, Yoshiko Okanoue continues to exude a fresh allure, and her work is receiving renewed acclaim both at home and abroad.
This long-awaited large-format (A4) collection features approximately 100 of her representative works, created over a mere seven-year period in the 1950s.
Categorizing her works under the keywords "View from the Confessional," "The Toying Muses," and "We Are Free," this groundbreaking collection delves into the mysteries of Okanoue's art, including her interactions with surrealists and her affinity with literature, while also featuring letters from Shuzo Takiguchi and other materials such as her poetry.
This is the official catalog for the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum's first major retrospective exhibition in Tokyo. Supervised and written by Kyoko Jimbo (Curator, Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum)
