Quick and dry! Easy to clean! What is diatomaceous earth? It is a sediment (sedimentary rock) made up of the fossilized shells of dead diatoms that settled on the bottom of oceans and lakes during the Cretaceous period. Because it is porous, it is an excellent natural material that has filtration, heat retention, moisture absorption, and deodorizing effects. Diatomaceous earth has countless microscopic holes, so it is very light and can absorb large amounts of water.
