This is a 1/48 scale plastic model assembly kit of the German Luftwaffe's high-speed fighter-bomber, the Dornier Do 335A Pfeil. The Dornier Do 335 was a German high-speed utility aircraft with innovative styling and equipment, including twin engines and propellers positioned at the front and rear of the aircraft, a cross-shaped tail, and an ejection seat, achieving a maximum speed of 760 km/h. Development began in 1942, and the prototype Do 335V-1 made its maiden flight in October of the following year, demonstrating excellent basic performance. The first armed prototype, the V-5, and the production model, the A-0, were subsequently completed, followed by the full-scale production model, the A-1, in September of the same year. The A-0 and A-1 were single-seat fighter-bombers equipped with a 30mm cannon and two 20mm cannons in the nose, as well as a bomb bay, and were rushed into combat deployment. However, the war ended before they could be deployed, preventing them from demonstrating their capabilities. This kit faithfully recreates the unique design of the aircraft, featuring a large fuselage with front and rear propellers, a cruciform tail, and thick, swept-back wings designed for high-speed performance. The cockpit interior is recreated with detailed parts, including the ejection seat, control stick, instrument panel, and side console. The canopy can be displayed open or closed. The bomb bay hatch can also be displayed open or closed. The interior, including the bomb support rack, is also realistically reproduced, and one 500kg bomb is included. The nosewheel landing gear is accurately recreated, including the long struts, thick tires, and landing gear compartment. A metal weight attached to the nose is included to maintain balance after assembly. Three marking options and one crew figure are included. [Product Details] Finished size: Length approximately 290mm, wingspan approximately 288mm.
