The material is made of a resin with excellent fatigue and weather resistance, and the joints are fused together using a welding method, ensuring the same strength as a one-piece boot.
The boots are designed to prevent water and foreign objects from entering the bearings inside the constant velocity joint and to prevent the splattering of lubricating grease. However, they will deteriorate or be damaged as the vehicle is driven or the steering is turned, so regular inspection and replacement are necessary.
