The NOKTON 35mm F1.2 X-mount is a large-aperture standard lens designed exclusively for the Fujifilm X-mount. The lens construction uses a traditional double Gauss design. Its eight-element design, with all elements arranged almost symmetrically around the aperture, creates a spherical surface, achieving a large F1.2 aperture. Despite its compact size, it delivers stable imaging performance even at full aperture, and produces smooth, large bokeh.
The optical system is optimized for the image sensor of Fujifilm X System cameras, maintaining high resolution all the way to the periphery of the image without relying on the camera's optical correction function, and suppressing phenomena such as color cast.
Equipped with electronic contacts, it ensures reliable electrical communication between the lens and the body. The combination of an electrical communication-enabled body and the latest firmware not only displays Exif information, focus check, and linked shooting distance, but also supports in-body image stabilization and parallax correction on certain models.
The all-metal helicoid unit is machined and adjusted with high precision, and the use of high-quality grease that generates just the right amount of torque ensures smooth focusing, allowing for subtle focus adjustments.
A 12-blade aperture is used to make the aperture shape closer to a circle, resulting in natural-looking out-of-focus areas and soft, rounded bokeh, rather than polygonal, of point light sources.
The aperture mechanism uses a mechanism in which the aperture ring directly links the opening and closing of the aperture blades, just like Voigtlander's VM-mount and mirrorless-mount lenses. With 1/3-step clicks, you can enjoy the feel of directly operating the mechanism.
The minimum focusing distance is 0.3m thanks to the full lens extension system. The close-up effect allows for even greater bokeh than when shooting distant subjects, expanding the possibilities for shooting with bokeh at full aperture.
