This is a real glass, it is not plastic.
Any mobile phone repair should be done by professionals. We strongly recommend using a special laser machine to repair all for iPhone glass for the best results.
If you decide to do this repair yourself then please turn off your phone and put down a cloth or protect your screen in some manner. Small glass pieces will scratch the screen causing damage. We personally like to cover the whole screen in painters tape.
When using the heating tool to heat the back of the glass, be careful not to put it too long in one place, which will damage the internal parts.
