About the Battle of Austerlitz
The Battle of Austerlitz, a battle between the French army led by Napoleon and the combined forces of Austria and Russia, is also known as the Council of the Three Emperors in European history.
The battle took place in December 1805 at Austerlitz in what is now the eastern part of the Czech Republic, and is also known as the Council of the Three Emperors because it featured Napoleon of France, Francis II of Austria, and Alexander I of Russia.
The battle for the castles of the villages of Telnitz and Sokolnitz was particularly fierce.
The Battle of Austerlitz is said to be Napoleon's most spectacular victory, and it subsequently solidified French dominance on the European continent.
