First discovered in the vitreous humor of the eye in 1934, then synthesized in vitro in 1964, hyaluronic acid is found mainly in the extracellular matrix and is known for its ability to regulate epidermal proliferation and retain water.

HYALURONIC ACID is found throughout the body (50% in the skin). There are 15 g of hyaluronic acid in a 70 kg individual, of which 5 g are replaced per day.
