"The Tale of the Princess Kaguya" is based on "The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter," said to be the oldest Japanese tale, and was produced by director Takahata over the course of eight years, beginning in 2005. This album explores why Princess Kaguya chose Earth from among the many other planets, what she felt on this planet, why she had to leave for the moon, what crime she committed, and what punishment she faced.
