Material: Alloy Tool Steel
Package Contents: 1 x Round Die
Description: The threading die is made of alloy tool steel and has excellent hardness, high torque, good toughness and wear resistance, and long service life.
The round die can be used to process, repair, or clean external threads. It is used for general thread processing on stainless steel, aluminum alloys, cast iron, copper, iron, aluminum, and plastics. It is ideal for maintenance and repair work on pipes, boards, and machinery.
The conical locking hole provides strong locking force and prevents loosening. It is suitable for re-threading existing threads in hard materials such as metals and creating new threads in soft materials such as plastics. The surface is lubricated with grease to prevent rust, and the threads are clear and easy to repair.
The round threading die is used with a die stock (also known as a die handle or die wrench). Align the die's positioning groove with the wrench's central clamping screw, insert the screw into the die groove, and tighten. Reverse rotation is required every 1/4 to 1/2 turn to facilitate chip removal from the chip hole.
When tapping threads, appropriate lubricant should be added to the die's cutting edge. The end of the bar should be chamfered at 45 degrees; excessive chamfering will prevent cutting. The bar's diameter should be smaller than the nominal diameter of the required thread (approximately 0.05 to 0.15 mm). Excessive diameters will make cutting difficult and may damage the die teeth.
Round Thread Cutting Die: Thread Size: 1-16 UNS (Right-Handed); Outer Diameter (OD): 55 mm/2.17"; Thickness: 16 mm/0.63"; Precision Class: 6g. Made of alloy steel, this die has high hardness, high torque, good toughness, and wear resistance for a long life.
Uses: Can be used to machine, correct, or clean external threads. Suitable for general threading on stainless steel, aluminum alloys, cast iron, copper, iron, aluminum, plastic, and other materials. Ideal for maintenance and repair work on pipes, boards, and machinery.
Features: Conical locking hole, strong locking force, no loosening. Ideal for re-threading existing threads on hard materials like metals and creating new threads on soft materials like plastics. The surface is lubricated with grease to prevent rust, making threads clear and easy to repair.
Easy to use: Match the die's positioning groove with the central tightening screw on the die wrench, insert the screw into the die groove, and tighten. The end of the bar should be chamfered at 45 degrees; if the chamfer is too large, it will not cut.
Tip: To facilitate chip removal from the chip hole, reverse the rotation every 1/4 to 1/2 turn. When tapping threads, appropriate lubricant should be added to the cutting edge of the die. The bar diameter should be smaller than the nominal diameter of the desired thread (approximately 0.05 to 0.15 mm). Excessive diameters will make cutting difficult and may damage the die teeth.
