Dickies began as a small overalls company in Texas, USA. Its growth into a major brand loved around the world is due to its unwavering commitment to functionality, which has continued since its founding.
C.N. Williamson and E.E. Dickie, co-founders of Dickies and cousins, began producing workwear in the 1920s, a time when the nation was in the midst of a frenzy of striving to achieve the American Dream. The two men traveled to various work sites across the United States, studying the unique characteristics of each job, from farmworkers to miners, and crafting workwear for these workers. Their innovative products, tailored to the needs of workers, quickly became a staple across the United States. During World War II, Dickies produced millions of uniforms at the request of the government. Their dedication to craftsmanship continued throughout the years, and in the 1950s, they created the 874 work pants for local Texas oil workers, a design that remains the world's most beloved to this day. Durable, stain-resistant, and perfectly suited to all body types, these pants truly embodied the Dickies spirit and became an explosive hit, spreading to workplaces around the world.
