Otani Whetstone Kitayama 8000 Body Only (No Nagura)

The Kitayama 8000 has long reigned as the gold standard for #8000, chosen by professional sharpeners.

This whetstone is beloved by connoisseurs for its subtle haze that brings out the true essence of Japanese knives. Its gentle sharpening is characteristic of resinoid.

Resinoid manufacturing process. We recommend using this whetstone after slightly rinsing it with a knife rather than immediately applying it to a knife.

While this is a resinoid whetstone with no voids, we recommend soaking it in water for about a minute before use.
