Description

The PENTAX V Series offers unique features that go beyond traditional binocular concepts. The PENTAX VD 4X20 WP is a multifunctional binocular with a unique 3-in-1 design. As a conventional binocular, it provides a clear, magnified view of the subject at 4x magnification. Additionally, its distinctive removable design allows the two barrels to be separated for independent or combined use. Separating the barrels enables the PENTAX VD 4X20 WP to function as two independent monoculars, which can be shared by two observers. Alternatively, connecting the barrels in line transforms it into a high-power telescope with 16x magnification.

1. Detachable 3-in-1 Design • Binocular Mode: Used as a traditional binocular, it provides a firm, 4x magnified view of the subject. • Monocular Mode: By cutting the two barrels apart, it can be used as two separate monoculars at 4x magnification. Unlike binoculars that require eye distance and diopter adjustments for each user, it can be focused simply by adjusting the focus. • Telescope Mode: Connecting the two barrels in line allows it to function as a 16x telescope.

2. Superior Optical Performance All reflective surfaces of the optical elements and prisms are fully multi-coated to prevent excessive reflection. The roof prisms are phase-coated, and the auxiliary prisms are treated with high-reflectivity dielectric multilayer coatings, enhancing transmittance and minimizing flare and ghost images. This results in bright, sharp, high-contrast images with excellent imaging performance.

3. Washable Waterproof Body This model features a weather-resistant structure (equivalent to JS Class 7, protected against immersion in water up to 1 meter). It can be rinsed with water for cleaning and used in any weather conditions. Not suitable for underwater use.

4. Other Features • Unique neck strap with two functions serving as independent hand straps for monocular use. • Helicoid eyepiece ring and single-action focusing operation. • Optional TP-3 tripod adapter (currently available) allows attachment to a tripod.
