This medium-fine fountain pen features a hand-fitted, polished single-cut panel cap with AAA-grade marine-sourced saltwater white mother-of-pearl, which shimmers with a kaleidoscope of colors in the light. The rounded lower barrel is crafted from solid hand-turned sterling silver 925, with an engraved finish. The fittings are chrome-plated brass, and the medium-fine nib (0.45mm line) is gold-plated stainless steel with a delicately etched leaf pattern in silver. Each luxury pen is a limited edition and serialized. The limited edition is exemplified by the fact that the natural white mother-of-pearl panels are all unique. This results in variations in the pen’s color and texture, making each pen one-of-a-kind. Mother-of-pearl is not only beautiful but is also known as one of the most durable natural materials. Xezo utilizes nacre (mother-of-pearl) with a Mohs hardness of 4.5. For comparison, fingernails have a hardness of 2.5, knife steel blades have a hardness of 5.5, and copper or brass has a hardness of 3. We believe the best gifts represent enduring love and thoughtfulness, which is why we use this most durable grade of mother-of-pearl in our luxury pens. The natural complexity of the white mother-of-pearl, the wave-like guilloché engraving, and the golden leaf-patterned band are inspired by Art Nouveau, mimicking the artistry of nature. Overall, this is a pen that is not only a convenient writing instrument but also a unique work of art.
