Over time, the decorative techniques applied to deer leather evolved into what is now known as Inden. Among these, the unique technique developed by Yūshichi Uehara in the Edo period, which involves applying patterns to soft and strong deer leather with lacquer, is called "Koshū Inden" and has been designated as a traditional craft by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. Inden-ya has inherited the Inden techniques from Uehara Yūshichi for thirteen generations, continuously adding creativity and refinement. As the main house of Koshū Inden, it continues to produce products that convey the rare culture of leather crafts. Inden features a harmonious blend of soft and lightweight deer leather with lacquer that changes color over time, developing a unique texture the more it is used. Its palm-sized, slim design makes it easy to carry in a cosmetic pouch without taking up much space. The inside has two mirror surfaces, with one side being a magnifying mirror. Each time you hold it, you will be enchanted by the pleasant texture of the deer leather on the outside. It comes with a fabric cover. *Please note that the color and pattern may vary slightly by product. *As it uses wild deer leather, there may be visible scratches on the surface, but please enjoy them as a sign of authenticity.
